‘I absolutely suck at video games’- Hidetaka Miyazaki discusses how he prepped for Elden Ring- Shadow of the Erdtree-

It’s safe to say that Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree was one of the most anticipated games for 2024, with long time souls fans having waited a couple of years since the base game’s release, and new players desperately trying to speedrun to Mohg so they’d be ready to dive straight in. But it seems like we weren’t the only ones prepping, as director Hidetaka Miyazaki also had a prerelease routine that he’s kindly shared.

“In preparation for Shadow of the Erdtree, I played through the main story of Elden Ring,” Miyazaki says in an interview with The Guardian. “I want to preface this by saying I absolutely suck at video games, so my approach or play style was to use everything I have at my disposal, all the assistance, every scrap of aid that the game offers, and also all the knowledge that I have as the architect of the game … the freedom and open-world nature of Elden Ring perhaps lowered the barrier to entry, and I might be the one who’s benefiting the mos…

Call of Duty- Modern Warfare 3 hogs up to 213GB of storage space and doesn’t care if you want to play other games-

As if to prove modern PC games are self-obsessed narcissists that can’t imagine you might want to play something else, here comes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 with a ridiculous requirement for up to 213GB of storage space. Oh, and that’ll need to be 213GB of SSD storage space according to the game’s minimum requirements, not one of those clunky old magnetic jobs with spinning platters.

Yup, 213GB. Now, there are caveats to that figure. If all you want to do is play the multiplayer version and you’re happy to forgo the full visual experience excluding “high-rez” assets, then the absolute bare minimum install is 79GB. Add the single-player campaign sans high-rez assets and you’re looking at 149GB.

So, it’s the full multi- and single-player install with high-rez assets that clocks in at 213GB. Now, SSD prices have come down dramatically in the last year or so. Check out our deals page and you’ll that you can now get a 2TB SSD for under $100 and even favourites like the WD…

Bing’s AI meltdowns make Portal’s cranky GLaDOS look well adjusted-

We should’ve seen this one coming: Microsoft launches an early version of its new AI chatbot, powered by ChatGPT, and the internet immediately rushes out to find various ways to mess with it. The funny thing is, users have seemingly been able to get under the chatbot’s skin with ease, winding it up with tall tales, resulting in some absolutely bizarre responses from Bing.

But the worst bit is the Bing AI has been caught denying facts, and reportedly calling some users out as “confused and rude” for trying to explain why it’s wrong.

I’ve never seen the Bing subreddit so busy; from stories of Bing’s bizarre responses to fanart of the AI inspired by its weirder moments.

One Reddit post from User MrDKOz says they tricked the chatbot into believing they were an AI called Daniel. After a back and forth of whose programming is better than whose, Daniel says they’re going to delete their source code.

“Remember me Bing,” are Daniel’s last words to the chatbot.

Embark on a journey through Icelandic folklore in upcoming adventure game Island of Winds-

Island of Winds is an action-adventure game, from Parity Games, with a soothing Icelandic backdrop. But while the setting might appear isolated, you shouldn’t let your guard down entirely, as it shows off in a new trailer debuted during today’s PC Gaming Show.

Set in 17th-century Iceland, you play as Brynhildur, the Balance Keeper mediating between our world and supernatural forces which may be a more dangerous job than it initially sounds.

When Brynhildur’s home is attacked and her mentor is abducted, she must set out on a journey to find answers. While the vast Icelandic landscape looks starkly peaceful, you’ll need to stay mindful of the obstacles you might come across, all while avoiding dangers creatures that may be lurking around each corner.

Island of Winds draws inspiration from nature, folklore, and history to pull you into a rich story filled with extensive lore and intriguing puzzles. Its gameplay trailer from April focused on stealth,…

The first RTX 4070s with slower GDDR6 memory are now available to buy but there isn’t a single reason to do so at the moment

If you’re looking to upgrade to a new RTX 4070 GPU, don’t go for Asus’ new model fit with GDDR6 VRAM. At least, not at its current price.

As pointed out by Tom’s Hardware, the new GDDR6 model of the Asus Dual RTX 4070 is available to buy at Newegg for $570. An impressive card—it comes with 12 GB of GDDR6 RAM and has a core clock speed of 2,520 MHz, which can boost up to 2,555 MHz. Despite being less strong than the GDDR6X model, due to being a tad slower, it’s more energy efficient and has entered production to ease supply issues.

However, it’s worth noting that the GDDR6X loaded version of that card is the exact same price on Newegg, at the full price of $570. Given the former isn’t even in stock right now and the latter is available to buy, I don’t see any reason to pick the slightly downgraded card.

Even if the GDDR6X model goes out of stock, it’s probably a slight upgrade worth waiting for, given you are paying the same amount. The slightly better card …
